1st Annual Big Bear Challenge

Big Bear Challenge Report

4 Guys started the Big Bear "Dirt-Only Ride" in light rain/mist weather:  Malcom, Ray, Wiley & another gnarly guy whose name I cannot recall. Wiley wimped out, and only rode part of the route, ending in Redlands, near San Timoteo Cyn Rd. (Glen Helen Nat'l Motocross Races later in the day). "The Ride" was a tough, but enjoyable route worthy of the previously rumored conversations, and up to the point of Wiley's departure in redlands, no evil asphalt was kissed by the sacred knobby tires. Enjoyed re-visiting some trails that he had not ridden on for 10 years or more in the Hulda Crooks/Loma Linda Area, big ol' fast fireroads & trails (Loma Linda hills area was wiley's former "home-turf" riding from 1970-1990). Don't know if anyone completed the route all the way to Big Bear. If they did, they get the Wiley Coyote nomination for the "Gnarly-Dude" award!

Ain't no hill too tough,
