Awesome day to ride.
Lou,Roxanne,Schreddie and me.
Took the usual route up farside to the saddle we took a breather and headed
down flood control to the pepper tree we took mc twist to north arroyo Lou
started down the nettles and I made a grown like uggghh so he turned back and
we hit north arroyo over the bridges to storage facility to x trail I forget
what we did next but some how we got back on north arroyo to mini moab up flood
control to pepper tree at this time Roxanne said she was going in after Jack's
arm,we decided we would go with her, she showed Schreddie the good arm, he
assured her she would find it, She was certain she know where to find it I
think she said she had a vision, I don't know, I don't smoke that stuff.
I was short on time because I was working today so Schreddie and I went on our
way and Lou went to look for the Arm with Roxanne, my money is on not. I have
looked for lost items in the park and it is all for not.
Schreddie and I took farside back down to the cars.
Great day to ride got home and on my job by 10
sweet deal.
Tim was there waiting for his group to show for the angelus oaks epic. wish I
could have gone but I had a great time here local with our group .I have
ridding everyday my legs are cooked. by Too TallRiders: Too Tall, Michelle, Tim-berrrrr, Chris, Skylar, and my buddy Adrian
Location: SART
We were suppose to get an 8 am start, but of course I was late after spilling
my pre-ride breakfast of oatmeal and cranberries in my car. Thank God for
Shop-vacs. Anyway, Tim, Adrian, and myself met at BoA at about 715 and
carpooled up to Angeles Oaks where Michelle was already waiting for us. Prior
to leaving the parking area, we met Chris and Skylar. Sincethey were
unfamiliar with the trial, they asked if they could tag along. OF COURSE!
We started at the Post Office and decided to do the entire PO Loop. The ride
was great. We dropped onto the fireroad and and opted to pic up, I believe,
Middle Control. We decided to ride up it instead of suffering on the
pavement. Going up was smooth no problems. The big creek crossing was
overflowing and deep we walked across, the climb on the other side was very
mudding and rutted out. This made us have to walk up. The other two smaller
creek crossings were ok, save for me going down on the last one after getting
my front wheel caught in the big underwater hole. Once to the top, we took a
mid ride break and at some snacks. While waiting we saw what had to be the
tallest rider ever. A guy came by who was a legit 7ft TALL!!!
After a nice break, we jumped back on the trail to head back down. It was a
nice flowing ride with no injuries or mechanicals.
After dumping back onto the fireroad, we began the very slow climb back to the
parking lot. By this time the sun was out and the climb was torturous, but
everyone made it out. Once back in the parking lot we were all done for.
I don't know the total miles or time since my Garmin's battery died during the
ride. Who cares anyway. We had great fun riding.
by KritterJust wanted to say thanks to Walter, Adrian, Tim, and Michelle for letting
Skyler and myself tag along on SART ride posted above. Great trail thats for
sure!
Here is our route and if you click on the end it will give you the
stats...nothing mind blowing but I had a great time after being out of the
saddle so long. Close to 3k feet of gain and 18.4 miles. The last 2.5 miles
and 700 or so feet of gain isnt the most fun thats for sure but a day riding
is better than a day at home.
