| Riders: Wreck, Dookie, Lumbar Louie, Oz, Th'entertainer, Stacey, McKenzie Cedric joined us on this ride along with his wife Stacey and their 16-year old daughter McKenzie. It was decided to ride ATM so we rode on Central and under the freeway towards the housing tracts. I think Stacey said it had been eight years since she had ridden this route. At some point on the fire-road ride, Dookie took off on his own and we never saw him again. The rest of us took our time reaching the water tank and the beginning of the singe-track. After the church, Louie and I rode BOM while everybody else decided to ride the BOMB path. We regrouped in the open dirt area right before the stables. Cedric and I then raced up Box Springs Road (Cedric won) Very soon the entire group was at the top. At this point Stacey mentioned she was a bit nervous about riding down Two Trees after all these years.....Wreck didn't help when he told them my broken leg story. Wreck finished scaring Stacey by also telling her about the guy who split his knee open on the rock- drop.... Once Stacey had been thoroughly frightened by Doc, I led the descent followed by Doc. I failed to clean the rock drop this time and I also dabbed on the rock-garden. When I reached the Watkins cut-off I turned around expecting Wreck but he wasn't there. I waited a bit but after 5 minutes nobody had ridden down so I got concerned. After waiting some more...I realized I didn't have my phone so I started hiking back up the trail to find out what happenened. After a bit the entire group finally appeared coming down the trail. I stepped aside and as Wreck bombed down he asks me "Why are you riding UP the hill? You are supposed to be riding DOWN the hill!" So I turned around and rode down and at the bottom I asked Wreck what had happened. Turns out everyone had stopped "to chat" while coming down Two Trees.....who stops to chat while riding down on the best part of the whole ride? Anyway, it was a good ride and it was nice seeing Cedric,Stacey and McKenzie both whom I had not seen since the Hurkey Creek ride two years ago...... |
